Seeking Safety in Diluted Language

There was a time when people said what they meant and meant what they said. A time when conversations were understood not only by those who engaged in the conversation, but by anyone listening. There was a time when a man’s words meant everything. There was a time when a person caught in a lie was a liar. Now the person has misspoke or we need clarification on what the meaning of “is” is.

The slippery slope of linguistic lunacy has paved the way for more lies and decent. It provides cover for those attempting to circumvent reality. Clear direct speech is no longer used or permitted. It is thought to be harmful or insensitive. Therefore, we’ve learned to finesse our speech to comfort the ears and sensibilities of the listener. We avoid speaking in unpleasant terms to spare the “mental feelings” of those around us. We’ve mastered the art of double speak by reframing unpleasantness into pleasantness.

I would like to demonstrate how lies present abortion in acceptable terms and then frame the abomination properly.

(1) We should always protect a woman’s right to choose. (2) No woman should ever be made to do something against her will. (3) It is her body and no one has the right to tell her what to do with it.

Women in America have the right to kill their babies! They can have those children sliced, diced, burn or ripped out of their bodies at will. Christians cannot control what a woman does with her body. Christians can only point to the truth. The truth is that at pre-abortion, a living child is growing inside the woman. At post-abortion, the child removed from the womb is dead. Regardless how it is spun by the media, abortion advocates, or those performing the “service”, once the fruit of the womb is removed, life ceases.

What about the women who are raped? They were violated by wicked evil men. What about them? Why should they be made to carry that child?

Because it is a child! It must be a terrible thing to be raped. The person who committed the crime deserves no mercy, but abortion is not the solution. Instead of one victim, there will be two! Where is the logic in that? Where is the mercy in destroying an innocent life to avenge the misdeeds of another?

There are so many unwanted children in the world. It would be cruel to bring an unwanted child in the world.

Are you saying that an unwanted child would be better off dead? Better off for whom, certainly not the child. Perhaps the child would have made a “better” parent than the one seeking an abortion. If the tables were turned, maybe that child would spare the parents life? There is a great demand for babies, or there wouldn’t be a waiting line for adoptions. I would also venture to say, people generally chose life over death. Why would an unwanted child be any different?

Unintended pregnancies are very emotional situations in which a woman, her family and doctor should discuss. It is no one else’s business.

With over 50,000,000 abortions in America since 1973, I believe it is everyone’s business! It surely is the abortion industries business and it is booming! They are making a (pun intended) killing! It is societies business, because our country is going broke. A reduced population leads to a reduced work force, which in turn generates fewer tax revenues. It is the churches business, because many of those who attend churches are also attending abortuaries.

When a society embraces the intended deaths of their unborn and elderly; it is only a matter of time before that society self destructs. Take not my word, but look back at the historical evidence. The data is available for those willing to research it. Only fools ignore danger, but sometimes the foolish cannot recognize it. Remember the words of an infamous leader that meant every word he said. Too bad, the foolish didn’t listen to him in time.

“What luck for rulers that men do not think!” Adolf Hitler
We must reject mans wisdom and seek the counsel of God. By His word we can live confidently. We will not be deceived by liars or lunatics. We must respect the living; whether, they are inside or outside of the womb. We must honor God’s creation and serve only Him.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Ps 139:13-14 (NIV)
